The Blue Raiders football team represents the Middle Tennessee State University and they have had some tremendous players, teams, and coaches over their time in college football. The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders football program began play in 1911 and has competed in the Conference USA (C-USA) since 1999. The Blue Raiders have won four conference championships (1982, 1985, 1987, 1993).
The Blue Raiders' most successful era came under head coach Rick Stockstill, who led the team from 2011 to 2022. During his tenure, Stockstill led the Blue Raiders to four bowl victories and four conference championship game appearances. Stockstill's teams were known for their high-powered offense and their ability to score points in bunches.
